Remembering Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the time of COVID

“Everybody can be great, because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

We would like to take a moment today to reflect on the service that we have seen among industry leaders, both in the state of Alaska and in the Nation. It is no question that there are things dividing us all in our current climate. But there is also one aspect where we continually come together: service.

Over the past 12 months we have seen businesses step up to help their fellow citizens. Whether that’s refabbing an assembly line to create PPE, donating food or resources to support food pantries and soup kitchens, or individuals going out of their way to support local businesses, it is refreshing to see an amount of grace during this troubling time.

Our challenge to our readers today: take a minute to contemplate service and grace. What can you do to help serve your community today? What is one way to extend grace to those around you?
