Let’s Take Control of Our Minerals Future

In News by wp_sysadmin

Did you know? American dependence on foreign critical minerals has doubled in the last 20 years. This means that in order to manufacture the products we use every day and build technology essential to keeping our country safe, we have to rely on foreign nations like China and Russia for these resources.

Critical minerals like antimony, an element used in batteries, cell phones and even pacemakers, is a primary example of a resource Americans need that we currently do not produce here at home.

Thankfully, there is a unique opportunity in central Idaho that could reduce our reliance on imports and produce a critical mineral we need for manufacturing here in the U.S.: The Stibnite Gold Project.

This project would take an abandoned World War II mine site and responsibly extract minerals like antimony, gold, and tungsten. They have a plan to dimmish our reliance on foreign supplies of antimony, all while creating well-paying U.S. jobs and cleaning up a legacy mine that is afflicting the environment.
